A digital twin that finds the lowest-energy setting

Refining is one of the most energy-intensive steps in pulp production, and its behaviour is non-linear. AEL built a digital twin of the R13 primary chip refiner that recommends the lowest-energy setting within quality limits before the operator makes a change, validates itself against live production, and is now being extended to LC Refiners R14, R15, R16 and the bleach plant.
